Frozen shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a condition characterized by stiffness, pain, and limited range of motion in the shoulder joint. It typically develops gradually over time and can be quite debilitating. The exact cause is not always clear, but it can be associated with injury, surgery, or conditions such as diabetes or thyroid disorders. Treatment often involves physical therapy, pain management, and in severe cases, surgery may be necessary.

TKR

TKR stands for Total Knee Replacement. It's a surgical procedure in which a damaged or arthritic knee joint is replaced with an artificial joint, typically made of metal and plastic components. TKR is usually recommended when conservative treatments such as medication and physical therapy fail to provide relief from knee pain and impaired function. Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process following Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Physiotherapy helps patients regain strength, flexibility, and range of motion in the knee joint after surgery. It typically involves exercises to improve muscle strength and endurance, stretching to increase flexibility, gait training to normalize walking patterns, and activities to improve balance and coordination. Additionally, physiotherapists may use modalities such as ice or heat therapy, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy techniques to manage pain and swelling and facilitate healing. The ultimate goal of physiotherapy in TKR is to optimize function and help patients return to their normal activities as soon as possible.

THR

THR stands for Total Hip Replacement. It's a surgical procedure in which a damaged or diseased hip joint is replaced with an artificial joint, typically made of metal, plastic, or ceramic components. Physiotherapy after THR focuses on restoring mobility, strength, and function in the hip joint. It typically includes exercises to improve muscle strength, flexibility, and range of motion in the hip and surrounding muscles, gait training .These exercises help patients regain the ability to walk, climb stairs, and perform daily activities without pain or difficulty.

Injuries

Sports injury Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the management and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Whether it's a sprain, strain, fracture, or overuse injury, physiotherapists work closely with athletes to help them recover safely and effectively. Treatment may include; Pain management, restoration of rang of motion & flexibility, muscle strengthing, functional rehabilitation, gradual return to activity , Education & prevention .

Rotator cuff injury

Rotator cuff injuries are most often caused by progressive wear and tear of the tendon tissue over time. Repetitive overhead activity or prolonged bouts of heavy lifting can irritate or damage the tendon. The rotator cuff can also be injured in a single incident during falls or accidents. Physical therapy consists of passive and active mobilization and strengthening exercises (open en closed chain). Late stages of rehabilitation of rotator cuff injury include progressive resistive strengthening, proprioception training and sport-specific exercises & modalities.

Mobilization exercise

Mobilization exercises are movements or stretches designed to increase the range of motion in joints and muscles. They can help improve flexibility, reduce stiffness, and prepare the body for physical activity or daily tasks. These exercises often involve gentle, controlled movements that target specific areas of the body.

Strength exercises

Strength exercises in physiotherapy involve activities or movements designed to improve muscle strength, endurance, and function. These exercises target specific muscle groups or areas of weakness to help individuals regain strength and stability after injury, surgery, or prolonged immobility. Strengthening exercises can include various resistance training techniques such as using weight cuff, dumbbells, resistance bands, or body weight exercises like squats, lunges, and push-ups. They are an essential component of rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring optimal movement and function.

Manual exercises

Manual exercises in physiotherapy refer to therapeutic techniques performed by a trained physiotherapist using their hands or body to manipulate, mobilize, or treat soft tissues and joints. These manual techniques can include: Therapitic Massage, joint mobilization, myofacial relief ,passive streching, manual resistance exercises.
